Spy Thriller ‘355’ Gets 2021 Release Date

Spy Thriller ‘355’ Gets 2021 Release Date

Variety

Universal Pictures has dated its spy thriller “355,” starring Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Diane Kruger, Fan Bingbing and Penelope Cruz, for a Jan. 15, 2021, release.

Simon Kinberg is set to direct from a script he co-wrote with Theresa Rebeck. The movie follows a group of spies from international agencies around the world. These women must bond together, overcoming their suspicions and conflicts, to stop an event from occurring that could thrust the world into chaos. A new faction is formed – code-named “355,” a name they adopt from the first female spy in the American Revolution. Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramirez also co-star.

Producers are Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Chastain’s Freckle Films and by Kinberg for his Genre Films. The film is executive produced by Richard Hewitt (“Bohemian Rhapsody”).

Chastain proposed the idea for a female-led spy film while working with Kinberg on this summer’s “Dark Phoenix.” The cast came together during 2018 with CAA Film Finance brokering the deal and Film Nation handling international sales.

“355” hit a hurdle, however, when a whistleblower accused Fan of tax evasion. The actress stepped out of the limelight in her home country of China, and admitted to wrongdoing on social media. The spy thriller will mark Fan’s first big-screen role since the scandal.

Universal had already dated the film for Jan. 15, 2021, as an untitled Universal event movie. It’s currently the only release on the date.

‘It Chapter Two’ Gets a Final Trailer

‘It Chapter Two’ Gets a Final Trailer

The final trailer for It: Chapter Two just debuted online!

A new trailer for the upcoming horror film It: Chapter Two has arrived, and unlike the first trailer, which focused mostly on a slow, increasingly uncomfortable confrontation, the new one ramps up the pace, intensity, and reveals.

It: Chapter Two continues with the second half of Stephen King’s 1986 novel It, an 1,169-page monster of a book that covers two periods in the lives of a handful of people from one of King’s favorite fictional settings: Derry, Maine. Muschietti’s 2017 hit It walked through the first half, where seven Derry kids become aware of a terrible monster preying on the people of their town, and set out to fight it. The creature is a shape-changer, but it often wears the face of a dancing clown named Pennywise (played by Bill Skarsgård), because clowns are forever creepy. The kids defeat Pennywise in It, and think they’re done with their shared story, but in Chapter Two, set 27 years later, they learn he’s still alive, and they have to return to Derry to fight him again.

Jessica Chastain stars as Beverly, with James McAvoy as Bill, Bill Hader as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, Jay Ryan as Ben, James Ransone as Eddie, and Andy Bean as Stanley. Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Martell as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben.

The film arrives in theaters on September 6th.
