Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show

Jessica showed up on Friday night at The Tonight Show for a interview with Jimmy Fallon, as part of the Molly’s Game promotion.

Jimmy Fallon always shows up some game but in this case they put up a video showing the sexism behind the casting calls.

In a short video, Jessica showed up for a casting call in which she was reading for the role of “Angela.” Her lines were simple: “Hi, my name’s Angela. It’s nice to meet you.” She read her line to camera and immediately received direction from the casting director (Fallon). “That was great. Can you do that again, but … hot?”, being repeated over and over asking to be more hot, more sexy, more wonder woman, until the end of her audition. She was followed by a male actor, who simply read the line, “Hi, my name is Mike.” to which Fallon’s casting director applauded and said, “Perfect. No notes!” Watch the video below:

If you follow Jessica for a while, you probably know that she a vocal advocate for equal pay and has spoken out about misogyny in Hollywood. During the interview, she addressed facing the issue in her own career during The Hollywood Reporter’s recent Actress Roundtable, saying, “After Zero Dark Thirty, I was sent a lot of scripts where it was a female protagonist, and they wouldn’t do my deal until they knew who the male actor was because they needed to do his deal first and then see what was left over.

Jessica Chastain attends the 2017 AFI Fest

On Thursday night (16), Jessica Chastain attended the screening of her movie Molly’s Game during the closing night of the 2017 AFI Fest presented by Audi at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

The two-time Oscar-nominated actress was wearing an Elie Saab dress and was joined by the film’s writer-director, Aaron Sorkin.

Molly’s Game was a last-minute replacement for the festival’s closing night film after Kevin Spacey‘s All the Money in the World was pulled from the schedule amid his sexual harassment and assault scandal. The film is now being re-shot to replace Spacey with Christopher Plummer.

You can see Molly’s Game in theaters on December 25!

‘Molly’s Game’: Behind the Scenes, Stills & French Poster

New poster, stills, a french poster and behind the scenes pictures were released. We’ve add them all in our gallery.

Also during the weekend, Aaron Sorkin, director Molly’s Game, revealed that Chastain and Elba had no time to rehearse for the movie due to budget and time constraints.

“We shot the movie in 49 days: Monday through Fridays. “When the movie really needed 60. So you have to get creative, you don’t have as much rehearsal as you’d like. And, with the scenes between Jessica and Idris in those offices—which are seven, eight, nine page scenes with dense language—the most important element there is rehearsal.”
